La Ventanilla and Mazute
La Ventanilla is a small estuarine lagoon on the coast near Mazunte. We took a short boat tour through the wetland, which is a rich waterbird breeding ground, and home to crocodiles and green iguanas.
In Mazunte we visited the National Turtle Conservation Center where they breed and raise many species of Tortugas, including sea turtles, for release into the wild.
