Mancora, Peru

Mancora, a beach town in Northwestern Peru with warm water, friendly people, and an alternative atmosphere. The landscape of the region is extremely dry and hot, but Mancora is lucky to have a small wetland to break the sandy monotony.

Private Bungalow to chill out in ...

This photo is looking out over the other side of the ridge which overlooks town.  Almost no vegetation can survive in the desolate landscape.... particularly with the hundreds of goats that graze the sparse shrubs.

Spectacular sunsets ...

We took a tour through the mangrove swamps near Tumbes ...

The mangroves are a rich breeding ground for Magnificent Frigatebirds, Brown Pelicans and several species of Egret.
